PLANTAZE Vranac is an ancient Montenegrin variety with origins deeply rooted in history. It is believed to be closely related to the Kratošija variety and has been cultivated since the 14th century in the Skadar Lake Valley. This variety is a source of viticultural and national pride, accounting for around 70% of the vineyards in Ćemovsko polje. The wine features an intense red ruby color and exhibits distinct aromas of small berry fruits, particularly blackberry and blueberry, complemented by subtle, dry spices.
On the palate, it is very fruity, with the predominant flavor of blackberry, balanced acidity, and a moderate tannin structure. The aftertaste is intense, offering a fruity-spicy character.
PLANTAZE Vranac pairs well with red meat, game meat, spicy dishes, and fatty, mature cheeses. In Montenegro, it is traditionally served with Njeguši prosciutto and pairs excellently with quality sea and lake fish dishes, particularly smoked carp, as well as all types of roasted and grilled dishes
