Badel Stara Šljivovica is the most famous spirit produced by Badel 1862 and holds a cult status in Croatia, often compared to the prestige of Scotch whisky. It is a traditional plum brandy (rakija) crafted from the indigenous Bistrica plum variety, which has been grown in the Mediterranean region for over 300 years. The spirit is aged in large Slavonian oak barrels for at least 12 to 24 months, which gives it its signature golden-amber color and a complex aromatic profile.

Alcohol Content: 40% vol. (Some regional variations may exist at 35% or 37.5%, but 40% is the international standard).

Aroma & Taste: Subtle notes of ripe plum and vanilla, complemented by a hint of toasted almonds, roasted nuts, and a soft oak finish.

Serving Recommendation: As and aperitif, best served well-chilled (at 2°C) in "long shot" glasses or, as a digestif, enjoyed at room temperature in brandy tulips to fully reveal its elegance, often paired with dried prunes or desserts.
